As you can see here, here and here we are big fans of the Wadden Islands, the Dutch islands in the north sea. Somehow the sky on these island looks always brighter and the air feels a lot fresher than anywhere else. Maybe it’s the combination of green grass, soft sand and salty air. Or maybe it’s the lack of grey buildings, traffic and noise.
The beaches on Terschelling – the third island in a row of five – are long and wide. especially at low tide. Het groene Strand (the green beach) is one of those endless stretches of sand where you see stranded boats, horse pulled wagons and statues made of washed up debris. It also has one of the most beautiful sunsets ever. Watch that from the terrace of De Walvis, with a glass of wine or a local beer within reach, of course.
