I used to think Mallorca was one big party island, but now I’ve been there a few times (I even got married there in a beautiful garden) I know that’s not at all true. My favorite thing to do on the island – except for getting married, but you only do that once * – is hiking. And hiking you sure can do. Think: 8 hour mountain walks, beautiful paths through fields with old Olive trees and rocky routes along the coast. My favorite spring route is definitely the walk from Deija to Cala Deija and Lluc Alcari. The landscape during this season is just amazing. Olive trees, spring flowers, bougainvillea, the blue sky and a turquoise sea. Bring the right hiking shoes as storms and erosion washed away the route here. Too challenging for you? Just hike from Deija to Cala Deija and order refreshments at the wooden beach shack.
