Puglia is famous for its pure food: fresh fish, vegetables straight from the garden and pasta, risotto and the local specialty: orecchiette. Of course every dish is drizzled with the famous golden olive oil, the areas biggest export product. In Polignano a Mare you’ll find a lot of (touristy) restaurants, serving excellent pastas and other dishes, but we were thrilled when we found an amazing little bistro, hidden in the small alleys of the charming old village. The place is called Mint and the owners Liu and Fabrizio know how to create original and healthy dishes. Quinoa with octopus anyone? Or a homemade veggie burger with potatoes from the oven and a fresh cold pasta-salad made from carrot and cucumber? Add a fresh fruit and vegetable shake, homemade cake and cookies to go and you’ll understand why this place is ranked #1 on TripAdvisor!
